Mandate

Develops SMEs and entrepreneurship ecosystem; operates cooperative registration; runs women- and youth-focused enterprise programmes.

Core functions

Register cooperatives under the Cooperative Law.
Operate SME support programmes (business development services, market linkages).
Promote entrepreneurship and women- and youth-led enterprises.
Coordinate with Somali Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) and development partners.
Curate SME success stories for /smes/stories.

Registers cooperative societies under the Cooperative Law and supports their legal establishment and compliance.

Operates support programmes for small and medium enterprises, including business development services and market access linkages.

Promotes entrepreneurship through startup support initiatives, innovation programmes, and enterprise development activities.

Supports women-led and youth-led enterprises through targeted programmes designed to improve inclusion and business growth opportunities.

Coordinates with the Somali Chamber of Commerce and development partners while showcasing SME success stories and cooperative achievements.
