Gamal Maxamed Xasan, the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Federal Government of Somalia, today received Adarsh Swaika, Ambassador of the Government of India to Somalia, at his office.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing economic cooperation between Somalia and India. Both sides discussed opportunities to promote trade, investment, and the development of domestic production.
During the meeting, the two sides held in-depth discussions on ways to further expand trade exchange and strengthen economic relations between the two countries. They also explored opportunities for cooperation in various sectors of the economy, particularly in trade, industry, investment, and the promotion of local production.
Minister Gamal Maxamed Xasan emphasized the Federal Government of Somalia’s commitment to strengthening trade and economic relations with Somalia’s partner countries, especially India, which shares a long-standing historical relationship and cooperation with Somalia. He highlighted the importance of creating a business environment that attracts foreign investment while supporting economic growth and industrial development in the country.
For his part, Ambassador Adarsh Swaika expressed the Government of India’s commitment to further strengthening its relations with Somalia and supporting efforts aimed at advancing the country’s economy and trade sector. He noted that India is interested in expanding cooperation across various economic sectors and enhancing trade relations between the two nations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership and cooperation between Somalia and India. They also expressed optimism that the growing cooperation between the two countries would create greater economic opportunities and sustainable development that would benefit the people of both nations.
