Industrial Policy

Siyaasada Warshadaha is the Federal Republic of Somalia’s National Industrial Policy, owned and implemented by MoCI’s Industrial Development Department.

The Industrial Policy sets strategic goals to strengthen Somalia’s industrial base, improve competitiveness, and create opportunities for economic transformation.

Build productive capacity in priority sectors to improve industrial output and national productivity.

Develop Special Economic Zones aligned with UNIDO-recommended industrial opportunities.

Attract productive investment from domestic and foreign investors into strategic industrial sectors.

Link industrial development to Somalia’s regional trade integration under AfCFTA.

Supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing and healthcare supply chains.

ICT

Encouraging industrial innovation and digital transformation through technology development.

Renewable Energy

Promoting industrial investment in renewable and sustainable energy systems.

Implementation Authority

The Ministry’s Industrial Development Department is responsible for ownership and implementation of the Industrial Policy.
