The tree planting campaign forms part of the Federal Government of Somalia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen environmental protection, combat climate change, and promote a national vision aimed at building a greener and more sustainable Somalia. The participation of ministers and government institutions demonstrates the government’s commitment to environmental conservation and raising public awareness about the importance of trees and environmental protection.

He also emphasized that environmental protection is an important component of the government’s broader development agenda.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Trade and Industry hosted Maxamed Cabdi Xayir (Maareeye), Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, and Bashir Maxamed Jaamac, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, at the Ministry’s headquarters, where they also participated in a similar tree planting initiative.

The joint event and campaign focused on strengthening cooperation among government institutions in the areas of environmental protection, the promotion of green spaces, and encouraging communities to actively participate in efforts to restore and preserve the country’s environment.

Officials who took part in the campaign emphasized the importance of working collectively to protect the environment and address the effects of climate change, noting that these issues directly affect the lives of the people, the economy, and the future of the country.
