The Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI) is established under the Federal Government of Somalia as the primary institution responsible for: (a) formulating and implementing commercial law and trade policy; (b) registering and regulating businesses; (c) promoting and facilitating trade and investment; (d) industrial development and standards; (e) consumer protection and market regulation. MoCI operates under the permanent Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia (ratified March 2026) and the Somalia Companies Act 2019.
