H.E. Abdisalam Sharif Hussein is the current State Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Federal Republic of Somalia with over 3 decades of experience Nationally and internationally in diverse fields spread across Consulting, Finance, Management, Marketing, Accounting, business development, projects management & relief aid.

Prior to his appointment to this position, he served at the  ICT Sector Project of Somalia funded by the World Bank as the  Project Manager for ICT to support the Federal Government of Somalia, Business Development Advisor/Manager of various Banks and Financial Services Companies in and out of Somalia.

Additionally, he worked as an Executive Director for the Somali Financial Services associations Europe in the UK with UNDP,  as General Manager of a group of Companies in Sharjah, UAE including Gulf Syndicate General Trading, and as a professional accountant at Hubaal Company Ltd in Mogadishu, Somalia.

Academically MOCI’s state Minister is doing a Master of Economic Policy and Management and the conditions for admission are under process.  Also, he has a Bachelor’s Degree in  Business Administration in Finance, Accounting, and Management from the University of Professional Education and Applied Science in Utrecht, Netherlands & another degree from Trent University in Nottingham, England.
