The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today received the Secretary General of the East African Community (EAC) Mr. Dr. Peter Mathuki who came to the country for an official visit and they discussed Somalia’s accession to the East African Community.
The President expressed his commitment to the completion of all procedures towards joining this community and he ordered to have finished all the plans within the next 12 months that he sees the importance of private sector players will accrue from the opportunities and participating in the economic development and social integration in the East African region.
In the meeting, the President was accompanied by ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia, including the Minister of Commerce and Industry of FGS H.E. Hon. Jibril Abdirashid Haji Abdi.
